A MESSAGE FROM THE CEO,
PROFESSOR GRETA WESTWOOD CBE PhD RN

Welcome to the Florence Nightingale Foundation. I am delighted you are considering joining us at the Florence Nightingale Foundation. We are a thriving nursing and midwifery charity, established in 1934. It’s our mission to pioneer change and improvements in patient and health outcomes and promote excellence through nursing and midwifery leadership, honouring Florence Nightingale’s legacy.

We have 1,300 alumni who continue to have a positive impact on hundreds of thousands of patients, clients, women and the health of the communities in which they work.

We know that diverse teams make better decisions, so it’s important to us that we have a variety of perspectives and experiences in the Foundation. Our team, Board and alumni represent many cultures and backgrounds. Our roles are open to everyone, and we encourage applicants from all backgrounds, irrespective of gender, gender identity, race, disability, religion or belief, sexual orientation and age. We welcome candidates who think they have the required skills and can contribute as a team member. We would like to particularly encourage those from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, people belonging to minority religions, LGBTQ+ people and those with disabilities and long-term conditions to apply to bring fresh perspectives through their lived experience. We guarantee to offer an interview to those from all backgrounds who meet the minimum criteria.   I hope by reading this it will inspire you to put yourself forward and tell us why you want to contribute to the work and future of the Florence Nightingale Foundation. We can’t wait to hear from you!
